From the Universal Dictionary of Violin & Bow Makers by William Henley:
A good Markneukirchen violin. This is probably one of Heberlein’s more affordable models. Heberlein violins do not have model designations, so you have to go more by the varnish and overall quality of the violin to determine its value.
The condition is good. The top has had five repairs: a long repaired crack near the center, two repaired edge cracks by both bass side corners, and a repaired saddle crack on either side. The violin is now ready for many more decades of musical service.
Set up with D’Addario Zyex strings.
