Albin Ludwig Paulus Jr. was born in 1866, studied under Dölling, and was established at Markneukirchen in 1890. He was assisted by his son Kurt in the making of splendid Cremonese models, with oil varnish. This is a fine example of his work. This is an excellent violin in most every respect! It rates very high on every point on the tone evaluation chart. This violin has the depth and power to satisfy the fiddler and violinist alike!
This violin is in very good condition. There is a short repaired crack on the bass side upper bout. Some minor re-gluing of some seams, and some cosmetic work on the tips of three of the corners has been done. The oil varnish is in very good condition. This hand-crafted violin is ready for its next hundred years of music making!
