Salvadore de Durro was a name given to violins imported by B & J of New York. They imported violins from Germany and Czechoslovakia. I have had several over the years. They are well made workshop violins that are consistently good sounding and playing instruments. This one has a one piece back and a rich dark red varnish.
The condition is good. It has a repaired crack under the tailpiece. The edges and corners on the top are worn. Set up with Warchal strings.
