Very nice French violin, with a dark tone to match its dark varnish! It is a solid, well-made violin. There are four full corner blocks, the sign of thoughtful craftsmanship. It appears to have been made in the late 1800’s.
The violin has two repairs. They are well done and solid. The heel of the neck was cracked. It is now stronger than ever. There was an edge that was broken off on the back. A small corner of one of the f-hole wings is chipped off. Close-up photos can be seen below.
The violin is set up and ready to play, with D’Addario “New” Zyex strings.
