Excellent condition with no repairs. Varnish is very good, but may not be original.
The tuning pegs are fine-tuning mechanical “Pegheds”. They make it far easier to get the violin tuned accurately.
It is set up with the old style D’Addario Zyex strings.
This is a violin that brings great tone and low price together. It is a good German workshop violin made in 1892. It only has two corner blocks, showing it was made in a workshop with several workers. This makes it more affordable, but it has not compromised its tone or stability. It is in excellent condition, and the dark tone and playing characteristics are very desirable.
