1887 Asa Warren White Violin!
Asa Warren White has produced some of the best, and most sought-after American-made violins! White’s violins are more than just collector items. They are popular because they are fine violins to play. Five-figure pricing is typical for his finest work. This one was made in his 61st year. The last one we sold had a warm, sweet tone; this violin is more neutral, with great power, good resonance, and nice overtones.
The top has a short repaired wing crack that can be seen above on the left. The tip of one of the corners has been replaced. The neck has been grafted in and the button on the back was repaired. The pegbox has bushing, so that smaller pegs could be used for better tuning capabilities.
